Importance of Branding for Students
Personal Branding applies to every student and is an important aspect that students should care for. In brand aid it mentions that “Teenagers need to make technology a resource to promote a powerful brand. It is part of their lives and the most common media used to project what they want people to think” (Linne 130). Technology is the center point of importance for most students and it reflects students by the way they portray themselves online.
As many of us enter high school it is important for us to act in an appealing way to attract colleges in our direction. Personal Branding shows outsiders who we are and how others see us as students.
A few ways for students to maintain an exceptional brand is to become involved in after school activities. Many after school activities such as clubs like debate, increase your personal skills and colleges see that as an advantage over other students. “Determine your goals in life: career, family, legacy, etc. What brand item will help you get there faster and ensure that you reach them?” (Linne 31) Knowing what your future will look like is a key point in creating your brand.
Another way for students to demonstrate the importance of branding is by asking yourself questions before you post anything on social media. You may want to ask yourself questions such as “Is this something I want to share with everyone? Does this hurt anyone’s feelings in any way? Is this post going to benefit me in the future or possibly destroy me?” Thinking about the pros and cons for posting that specific item may make your future better.
Suha’s Super Powers & Skills
From all my past experiences and challenges I would describe myself as person who takes leadership and role in many projects. Some of my previous and current teachers signify that I am one who takes action upon the group.
Many people think that being responsible may become a hassle at times. Although, I believe that being responsible is the best quality one can have. Responsibility in my definition is turning assignments in on time, participating in class, listening to the teacher and following directions the first time asked. In my point-of-view, I believe that responsibility shows a sense of maturity.
Success in my eyes means the top in every obstacle that brings me hardship. I believe that success is something that all are not capable of achieving, only those have the ability to do so achieve success. I consider success as a value because I am not at the stage where I am “successful” but I am rather achieving this value.
Roger Federer once said “When you want to do something best at life, you don’t really want to give that up - and for me it’s tennis.” Like Roger Federer, my passion is tennis. Although I am not quite yet champ material, I do love the sport passionately. Tennis is the most beautiful sport in my perspective; its graceful.
5 & 10 Years of Accomplishments
In five years, I imagine myself graduated from Windermere Preparatory School with the IB Diploma and accepted into a top-tier college. In 5 years, I will attain freedom and be an independent young women that is dreaming to become successful. I hope in the future I am able to travel many places and go on many adventures around the world.
You may want to ask yourself questions about your future when it comes to education. "Will you need to be perceived as intelligent? Would it benefit you to be thought of as honest or hardworking? Are you a problem solver to researcher? Are you detailed, focused and kind? As what do you excel? What value do you bring to relationships?" (Linne 31) Asking yourself question such as these will improve the way you perceive your educational future.
In ten years, I imagine myself with a settled life. My life will include a beautiful lake front house with a husband and maybe even a child. My future will definitely include a career with something I personally love to do.
For my visions to be accomplished I need to work hard in school, receive higher than a 4.0 GPA. I also need to become a well-rounded student: one with volunteer hours, sport credits, art credits, maybe even music credits. In addition, I need to be a competitor at everything I do and receive awards in many different competitions such as History Fair. This journey is not going to be an easy one, and I have to walk it alone. I can only act and dream for the best.
How I Want People to See Me
I want people to describe me as a bright, intelligent young woman. I hope that people see me independent but also the kind that seeks for advice. In addition, I want everyone to describe me as a high-achiever but also known to have an athletic side towards tennis.
Most of my family and friends would describe me as this, although people that don’t know me as well would most likely not describe me as well as I’d hope to. Those that don’t know me as well, would most likely describe me in a way that leaves out important values that make me who I am today.
